Communication through Coronavirus

Communication through Coronavirus

It is a strange and uncertain time in the world. The impact of Coronavirus is being felt all over the world across all industries. With the cancellation of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, as well the NBA and other sporting events, this is just the tip of the iceberg for meetings and events around the globe. As a business that operates primarily in the public and events space, the ramifications of the Coronavirus pandemic are unprecedented and surreal. In the interest of public safety, many businesses and organizations are having to face canceling or postponing major events that their businesses depend on. These organizations still have important messaging to get out. They still have a need to sell, still have a need to engage, still have the need to get organizational support. None of that goes away, and if it does go away, businesses and organizations will fold. This is why we must adapt and keep communication going in alternate and innovative ways to prevent this from being a disaster for businesses and the meetings/events industry too.

VISION is in the business of marketing, communications, and live event production. The way businesses need to communicate, both internally and externally, is changing right now. Even outside of the events industry, many businesses and organizations have switched to working remotely when possible. As a production partner, we are encouraging our clients to shift their thinking and re-invent how they engage with their audience under these strained circumstances. In times where face-to-face meetings are not an option, the need for video marketing, video communications, virtual reality, virtual communications, and streaming has become even more valuable business tools. With a large portion of employees being advised to stay in their homes, we are helping businesses find ways to continue to be in front of their customers and continue customer experiences.

Right now we are in the midst of uncertainty and we don’t know how long it will be before the world goes back to ‘business as usual.’ Even when this settles, the repercussions of this virus will change the way that businesses look at live events and meetings. Being prepared for these extenuating circumstances, not just reactive, will become the new norm. VISION is here to help. In times like these, effective communication is more important than ever.
