#HoustonStrong: Houston lives ON.
In only a few days, we have experienced the most catastrophic flood that Houston has ever seen. It is devastating to watch helplessly as the city we love becomes a disaster area. In the wake of Hurricane Harvey, our roads have turned to rivers, homes have been overwhelmed by rising water and our citizens have turned into evacuees.
But in the face of catastrophe, Houstonians have banded together to keep one another afloat—both literally and figuratively. While Hurricane Harvey may have threatened our infrastructure, it also strengthen our bond as Houstonians. People all over the Houston area are reaching out a helping hand to their fellow citizens in need—creating their own network of assistance through social media. What we’ve seen these past few days is perfectly summed up in this tweet by Christopher C. Cuomo:
#HoustonStrong We are seeing the worst of mother nature and the best of human nature. Be smart, safe and helpful. #HarveyFlood

Houston is one of the most culturally diverse cities in the United States, and despite any differences, we have come together to protect our fellow Houstonians. It is a testament to the strong bond of our community. And as this storm finally passes and the waters recede, we will come together again to pick up the pieces and build Houston back up, stronger than ever.
Thank you to all who are assisting in the relief and recovery in this devastating event. Our thoughts go out to all those affected by Hurricane Harvey in Houston and beyond.
