It’s well known that the path to economic mobility and prosperity is increased exponentially for students who attain a postsecondary degree. In Houston, where the job market is fueled by the energy and medical sectors, two thirds of jobs require a postsecondary degree or certification. However, Houston is not producing the educated workforce needed to support the growth and prosperity of our community. As a college access and success organization working to close the college degree divide, OneGoal Houston has the ability to deeply impact this growing disparity.
Every year, OneGoal Houston hosts their “Dream it. Achieve it.” Gala to celebrate the brilliance, resilience and accomplishments of their students as well as encourage support in OneGoal’s mission. But with the majority of people still at home due to the pandemic, OneGoal Houston needed to reimagine their in-person gala for a virtual audience. OneGoal Houston turned to VISION to set the tone for an inspiring virtual event and opening video experience.

To create a powerful first impression for OneGoal Houston’s virtual gala, VISION produced a striking opening video coupled with dynamic motion graphics. Shot in downtown Houston, the video features an inspiring poetry performance by an alumna of OneGoal Houston while capturing the beauty of popular Houston landmarks.

With the pandemic further exacerbating the inequities in higher education, OneGoal Houston’s mission to close the degree divide in America is more important than ever. To continue their work towards their vital mission, OneGoal Houston needed to reimagine their in-person “Dream it. Achieve it.” Gala into a virtual experience that their audience could enjoy from home. OneGoal Houston called on VISION to create an empowering virtual show that would drive viewers to become champions of OneGoal Houston’s important work.
Despite the significant challenges and immense adversity brought on by the pandemic, OneGoal Houston students continue to work towards their commitment to obtaining a postsecondary degree and pursue their most ambitious dreams.
