Each year, the Greater Houston Partnership gives an annual assessment of Houston’s ties to the global economy at their in-person State of Houston’s Global Economy event where the Partnership’s Senior Vice President of Research, Patrick Jankowski, delivers his annual Global Economy report. However, when the COVID-19 pandemic struck, the Partnership engaged VISION to produce their 2020 State of Houston’s Global Economy event as a virtual experience that examined the impacts of COVID-19, the U.S. recession and the collapse of oil prices. The virtual event also featured a fireside chat between Former U.S. Secretary of Commerce and current Chair of Albright Stonebridge Group, Carlos Guiterrez, and Partnership President and CEO, Bob Harvey, where Gutierrez offered his perspective on the current situation and what the future holds for the U.S.
With the coronavirus pandemic wreaking havoc on trade, supply chains and business around the world, the Partnership’s State of the Houston’s Global Economy is more vital than ever. As the official Production Partner of the Greater Houston Partnership for more than a decade, VISION was honored to convert the Partnership’s annual live event into a virtual event experience—helping to further the Partnership’s goal of economic prosperity, regional success and building communities that make the City of Houston live ON.
