Staging the future of Stages Repertory Theatre.
Ever since Stages Repertory Theatre was founded in 1978, it has been a staple of the Houston arts community. Over the years, Stages has grown to become one of Houston’s favorite theatre companies. And now, with funds gathered through their recent capital campaign including generous support from Russell and Glenda Gordy as well as the Sterling-Turner Foundation / Winston and Reckling families, and Lester and Sue Smith, Stages’ new three-theatre venue, The Gordy, is slated to open during the 2019-2020 Season. To help showcase their incredible new theatre spaces, Stages engaged VISION to produce their new capital campaign video entitled “Staging our Future”, which was shown at their 2019 Gala & Auction to showcase the generosity of the community and their commitment to quality theatre spaces in Houston.
Stages has always been a place for dreamers; those who reach higher, defy expectations and forever imagine more. Staging Our Future: A Transformational Campaign for Stages is now one of the brightest stars in the theatre’s story. With the leadership of Honorary Campaign Chairs Isla and T.R. Reckling, III, as well as the Stages Board and capital campaign committee, Staging Our Future has exceeded all expectations, raising over $34 million, surpassing their goal of $32 million.
