United Way of Greater Houston Virtual Event

Connecting people with opportunities to thrive through virtual events.

For nearly 100 years, United Way of Greater Houston has brought together diverse partners and approaches to get to the root of complex challenges holding people back. The research from Dr. Steven Klineberg’s annual surveys has helped shape United Way of Greater Houston’s strategic direction and its work to break down barriers for hard-working families struggling to achieve financial stability. So when Dr. Klineberg released his much-anticipated book “Prophetic City: Houston on the Cusp of a Changing America” it was fitting that United Way of Greater Houston invited Dr. Klineberg as the featured speaker in a special event to discuss his book that discusses how the city of Houston has emerged as a microcosm for America’s future.

Due to social distancing mandates caused by the pandemic, United Way of Greater Houston asked VISION to transform their would-be live attended event into a virtual experience that would engage viewers in the digital realm. Our team is proud to provide our expertise in virtual event production and content creation to support United Way of Greater Houston—a driving force for good that connects people in our community with opportunities to thrive.

  • Virtual Event Production:

VISION produced United Way of Greater Houston’s virtual event featuring Dr. Stephen Klineberg, renowned sociologist and founding director of Rice University’s Kinder Institute for Urban Research, where he discussed his new book and shared his perspective on Houston as a bellwether for America’s future.

  • Virtual Waiting Room Content:

Leading up to the virtual event, viewers were met with a virtual waiting room showcasing the efforts of United Way of Greater Houston during the COVID-19 crisis and beyond.

Through this special virtual event featuring Dr. Stephen Klineberg, United Way of Greater Houston’s donors learned about Houston’s growing opportunity gap, largely due to the underemployed, uneducated population in Houston. With the widening opportunity gap due to the COVID-19 pandemic, United Way’s work is more important than ever before. VISION is honored to work alongside United Way of Greater Houston in their virtual production efforts to help further their important work to break down barriers for families struggling to achieve financial stability.
