MAD 3D Projection Mapping Mural
Serving restaurant patrons a feast for the senses with 3D projection mapping at MAD Houston.
Few places transport people to another world quite the way the restaurant MAD does. Designed for the adventurous, MAD is a Houston-based and Madrid-inspired foodie hot spot from Ignacio Torras and chef Luis Roger that combines Madrid’s famous nightlife with the most popular of Spanish gastronomy. Looking to enhance their avant-garde atmosphere even further, MAD reached out to VISION Production Group to transform their massive abstract mural into an experiential art show that perfectly compliments the eye-popping decor by famed Barcelona-based interior designer Lázaro Rosa-Violán.

Leaning into MAD’s eccentric and innovative ambiance, VISION created a 3D projection-mapped light experience that highlights the Brutalist-inspired mural overlooking the space.

Custom Motion Graphics and Design:
VISION’s team of motion graphics artists created custom animations to play up the intricate lines of MAD’s abstract concrete mural—putting the “show” in the show-stopping artwork.
Combining fantastical decor with the finest in Spanish gastronomy, MAD Houston offers a feast for the eyes as well as for the mouth—serving a fully immersive restaurant experience that lives ON. It’s such an honor to have VISION’s 3D projection animations featured alongside MAD’s impressive collection of interior decor, including a display of original Picasso-designed pottery, golden replicas of the Cassini space probe, and magnificent creations by famed glass artist Dale Chihuly.
